What Is A Mobile Phone?
A mobile phone is a portable telephone that has access to a cellular radio system. This enables the phone to take calls, send texts, and access the internet (and more!) without it being physically attached to a network using cables. In this way, a mobile phone is significantly different from traditional land line phones. Ever since they were first introduced in 1973 by Motorola, mobile phones have occasioned a significant amount of debates.
Phone Addiction
Students who use digital technology excessively are less motivated to engage with their studies, and are more anxious about tests, according to a study which says the effects may be worsened by increased feelings of loneliness.
As part of the study, published in the Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, 285 students who had enrolled in health-related degree courses were assessed for their digital technology usage patterns, their anxiety, loneliness, study skills and motivation.
The researchers, including those from Swansea University in the UK, found a negative relationship between internet addiction, and motivation to study.
Students reporting more internet addiction, they said, found it harder to organise their learning productively, and were more anxious about upcoming tests.
Though mobile phone has disadvantages also, its importance is far more than its disadvantages. If used wisely, a mobile phone can be a lifesaver that enhances your social life. As for me, I can't go 12 hours without my phone lmfao :) ...
